SAM with Visual Art friends

Our second Introduction to Visual Art homework was to go to SAM (Singapore Arts Museum) to find works that can be linked to the 18th or 19th century with the exhibition that was on going.

I cannot really remember what this was about but in general it was about war during that era.

Pandora's box
In the past, lots of countries are poor and there's lots of places that were not fully develop but it's because of the pioneer generation that we have the country as it is today. From nothing to all the high rise buildings all around us.
( This was work that we chose )

At the first level, there were some interesting photos(Following 3 photos below) that we had to peep though a hole of a box. But there was something I was not happy , that was there were some holes that were placed taller than me and I could not see through it with my own eyes. I had to use my phone to take a photo of it to view the photo inside.

This was actually a random shot while I was resting with my group members in one of the corner of the exhibition, neither did I expect the photo to turn out pretty well.

Meaningful drawings to me

Once again its on 2D lesson homework that I did in one of the week.
We had to draw 4 images for each of these:
-The additional of shapes
-The subtraction of shapes
-The interpenetration of shapes
-The multiplication of shapes

And the bottom 2 image that holds quite a memory or meaning to me.( There were others too like the siblings drawing)

First will be the additional of shapes and I drew 2 lightsticks and my hand. The lightstick on the left represents GOT7 lightstick where I went to their first ever fanmeeting in Singapore with my close friend. That was when my bias list in the group begain to get messed up because their stage present on that day was way too awesome !

And the lightstick on the right is Super Junior's Super Show 6 concert. It was only finally after being their fan for 6 years that I got to go to their concert. It was really memorable since it was my first time seeing them and also had a few seconds eye contact with one of the member(KangIn) And also the fact that I actually told my friends before the concert that I wish Donghae (My ultimate bias in Super Junior) would appear in front of me when the concert start, which he DID! Nothing could express how much I enjoyed that day with the fact that it was my late birthday present from my parents!

The second one is the subtraction of shapes to which this is the hidden message:

Having the same goal they(Super Junior members) came together, going through real shits together and now because of the brotherhood they have for the past 10+ years they will always be in contact with each other no matter which route they choose to take(Even though 2 of them left the company). The star represent Super Junior and the 15 different hands represents the different members and the heart , brotherhood.

My Love In Super Junior

In one of the week for 2D fundamental, we had to draw a face with black and white paint or pencils or markers to show that we know where the shadows are clearly. We were not allowed not smudge the shadows. And I chose to paint my bias in Super Junior (A famous korean boy band) Lee DongHae. I do not think I did a bad job, but there are still a lot of improvement I think I can improve on.
There is a original photo I took form his Instagram at the top right hand corner to show the comparison.

[Week 8] Copy & Paste

A few weeks ago for drawing fundamental we had to draw items that has reflection for example, spoon, fork and knife. And for the first 2 drawings, we drew what was given to us so what we had to do was just copy the shape( We were allowed to trace ) and "paste" it on our drawing paper.

This reminds me of a song by BoA "Copy and Paste" even though the lyrics has nothing got to do with art.

Analogical Thinking From Familiar Environmrnt

Selecting objects or images from my familiar environment that demonstrated the practice of analogical thinking

 Personal Analogical Thinking.
This is a magnet with some motivation words. This reminds me to enjoy my life and just do not be afraid to be judged by others. As found on my whiteboard.

Symbolic Analogical Thinking
This is as though it has a holder and a clipper which allows one to put their calendar at the front and keep stationary at the back.As found on my study table.

 Symbolic Analogical Thinking
Instead of chair and cardboard being chair and cardboard, it can also be used as pillars to hang cloths.
As found in my brother's room

Fantasy Analogical Thinking.
Instead of just normal light bulbs, im glad people actually designed different kind of shapes and colors of the light to give off a diferemt feeling.
Just like the dimmer light above my bed that gives off a cozy and sweet feeling with the pink light and flower designed cover.

Analogical Thinking(relationship with other things) Reflection

3 existing product to discover relationship to other objects and images.

Hairstyle which analogical to Tamagoyaki.

Red color suit that analogical to red chili.

A flipped cap water bottle that analogical to that of a pitcher-plant.
